Helen is HomeMaster's AI assistant on WhatsApp. You tell her what you need in an ordinary message, and she replies with real open times and the exact price, books the visit once you confirm, and then looks after it: reminders, rescheduling, receipts and questions. There is no app to install. When something needs a person, our team steps in.
This post explains what Helen does, what our team does, how to get the most out of a chat with her, and the things she will never do.
What Helen does
Most of what you need from a cleaning service is organising: finding a time, agreeing a price, moving a visit when life changes. That is Helen's job.
- Booking. Send your postal code, the type of home, how many hours and how often, and when suits you. Helen checks that we cover your address, shows real open times, and gives you the exact price with GST included. She then sends a booking card with the date, address, hours and price for you to confirm.
- Suggesting a length. Not sure whether you need 3 hours or 4? Describe your home and she will suggest one.
- Reminders and receipts. You get a reminder before each visit and a receipt once you have paid, in the same chat.
- Changes. Move a single visit, shift a whole regular schedule to another day, skip a visit, change the length, or cancel. If a fee applies, she tells you the exact amount and asks you to confirm before anything happens.
- Questions. What a clean includes, what supplies to have ready, how our cancellation policy works, or who is coming on Thursday.
- Changing cleaner. If you do not get on with your cleaner, tell Helen and she moves you to someone else.
If you would rather book on a form, you can use the home cleaning page instead. Helen picks up from there once you have booked.
What our team does
An AI assistant is good at schedules, prices and routine changes. It is not the right one to weigh up a complaint or make a judgement about money. So our team steps in when a person is needed, for example:
- a clean that fell short, where someone needs to look at what happened and decide on a fair outcome (a genuine quality miss is compensated with a voucher)
- damage to something in your home, which is covered up to a stated cap per item
- a question about a charge, or a refund
- anything unusual that does not fit a standard booking
- any time you ask to speak to a person
When that happens, our team replies in the same WhatsApp chat, so you do not have to start again somewhere else.
How to talk to Helen
Write the way you would text a person. Helen understands plain sentences, not just keywords, and a single message with all the details gets you an answer fastest. A few examples that work well:
- "4-room HDB, two bathrooms, three hours every Tuesday morning if possible."
- "Can you move this Friday's clean to Saturday?"
- "Who is coming tomorrow?"
- "I'm overseas from 4 to 18 December. What happens to my cleans?"
- "Can the cleaner do some ironing this week?"
When Helen offers choices, such as a few start times, you can tap one or simply type your answer. If she has misunderstood, say so in your own words and she will correct it. Nothing is booked until you confirm the booking card, so a misread message cannot turn into a booking by itself.
Our guide to booking a cleaner on WhatsApp walks through that first booking message in more detail.
Who is coming to your home
You can ask Helen at any time who your cleaner is, and she answers from your live booking. Cleaners are sometimes matched closer to the date, so if you ask early she will tell you how that works rather than guess a name.
For a regular slot we aim to keep the same cleaner where possible. It is not something anyone can promise every single week, because people fall ill and take leave. If your cleaner is unavailable, we arrange cover, and you can ask Helen who is coming instead.
What Helen will never do
Some things are off limits by design, and knowing them protects you from anyone pretending to be us:
- Take payment in the chat. Helen never asks for card numbers, a bank transfer to a person, or a one-time password. You pay on our own payment page on homemaster.co, through a link she sends. Our guide to cleaning scams in Singapore explains why that matters.
- Charge a fee without telling you. Cancellation and rescheduling fees are shown and confirmed first, then paid by a payment link. They are never taken silently from a saved card.
- Offer a time that is not open. She shows the times that are genuinely available. If none suit you, she says so and suggests the nearest real alternatives.
- Promise what cannot be checked. A particular cleaner every single visit, or an exact arrival minute, are not things she will promise.
- Book without your confirmation. Your confirmation on the booking card is what books a visit.
Helen and other AI assistants
If you use ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant, it can connect to HomeMaster and ask us to book for you. When it does, the booking arrives as a card from Helen on your WhatsApp, and you confirm it with one tap. Our guide to booking a cleaner with ChatGPT or Claude explains how to set that up, and our page for AI assistants lists every route.
Frequently asked questions
Is Helen a real person?
No. Helen is an AI assistant on WhatsApp. She handles bookings, changes, reminders and routine questions herself, and our team steps in when a person is needed, for example a complaint that needs a decision or a question about a charge. You can ask for a person in the chat at any time.
Can Helen tell me the name of my cleaner?
Yes. Ask her at any time and she answers from your live booking. Cleaners are sometimes matched closer to the date, so if you ask early she will explain that rather than guess. For regular slots we aim to keep the same cleaner where possible.
Do I need to download anything to use Helen?
No. Helen works inside WhatsApp, so there is nothing new to install. The only other page you open is our payment page on homemaster.co, which you reach from the link Helen sends after you confirm a booking.
What happens if Helen gets something wrong?
Tell her in your own words and she will correct it. Nothing is booked until you confirm the booking card, and fees are always shown before you confirm them. If the problem needs a person, our team takes over in the same chat.
Need a hand at home?
Tell Helen what you need on WhatsApp. She replies with real open times and the exact price, GST included, and weekends cost the same as weekdays.
